CHANGE
Some say its necessary,
some say it's the spice of life, to others yet, it's a bane to
their life, a detriment to their very existence.
All this fragmented thoughts crossed my mind on a cool Monday
morning, and just like the blue azure sky above me, the answers
to my questions will not be easy to reach(if even possible at
all).
Nevertheless, I shall put down my thoughts...
We all know that change is necessary, in fact, it is essential,
albeit, bitter.
It is something which may help us survive the cruel things that
may be hurled our way in life. To a certain extent; it makes us
flexible enough that we do not snap against the winds of change.
An analogy to that would be the story of a tree and the small
plant, of which I'm sure most of us have heard of......sure, the
small plant with, flexible stem vacillates with the wind and is
perceived as being incapable or inferior, whereas the tree with
strong, rigid trunk stands unfazed by the wind with pride. A
strong gale blew across the land one day and the tree, being
proud, tried to withstand the force of the strong gale. Its
trunk snapped, farewell tree. The small plant, being flexible
swayed along with the gale and survived.
Ever-changing is the nature of nature in itself; so much so that
it appears to me that any point in my lifetime thus far has
always been transitional, never reaching any destination
whatsoever. When we travel, we always have a purpose and
destination in mind before we set out on any grand voyage. What
then is our purpose and destination in life? Is it death?
To the first issue I brought up, it is ridiculous to think that
our purpose in life is to die, for if that were the case, why
were we b rought into existence in the beginning? Wouldn't that
be an awful waste of nature's resources?
It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, I choose to believe that
life is a blank cheque, the purpose and meaning of life is
whatever you want to make of it, and that it would be absurd
that our purpose in living is to leave the world of the living,
unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the second issue on our
destination in life, reason being that we cannot hide from the
fact that people do die.
After all that had been said about change being necessary/
essential, I beg the question...why is that so?
That, I do not have the answer...
What I understand is that nothing transcends time save for
change, for even before time was recorded, changes have been
taking place, shaping, molding, transforming the environment we
now live in.
Change, I have come to believe, is the very essence of life
itself, and that we have to live with it, be it to our delight
or dismay....we have to trust our unknown future to our known
god.
